I work with Florida Long Leaf Pine needles, and other organic forms. I believe that the work of coiling a pine needle basket is passed hand to hand, and should be carried down through the generations. As long as there has been man in the presence of pine trees, there has been pine needle coiling. When I teach the skill, I always take time to talk about the trees, forests, and the animals and unique habitat that they create.
