Both form and surface are important to me in my ceramic pieces. Each shape is made individually, then decorated with varying combinations of terra sigillata, slip, and underglaze, carved with a sharp tool, and fired in an electric kiln.
As an artist, the feeling of creation fulfills some inner drive of expression. I think this ability can enable others to experience some of the emotions often unavailable or unrecognized by ourselves.
I am primarily a self-taught artist.
