Loriene Pearson is a member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska and is a self-taught artist hand-embroidering Native designs. Her early work translated Winnebago women’s appliqué to embroidery. She is inspired by family, by her tribe, and by the land. Her creations intentionally focus on reciprocity. In 2021, Loriene was awarded Best of Division-Emerging Artist for “Sky Woman” at Native POP in Rapid City, SD. In 2020, “MMIW: Break the Chain” was seen in Minneapolis’ “All My Relations Gallery”.
