I got started in pottery at Berea College in Kentucky. Berea is a work study school, so I ended up getting a job in the pottery. I worked as an apprentice potter during my time there. I got interested in carving on vessels and later developed the unity motif people holding hands around the vessel as a result of the aftermath of 9/11. I saw the event as a unifying moment, and it became the message that i wanted to incorporate in my designs.
