As a ceramic artist, I am inspired by patterns in nature. The space between land, water and sky and matter shaped by the passage of time. I express the tactility of clay through form, textures and color. I am interested in juxtaposing contemporary and traditional design elements to make cultural connections. My functional and sculptural vessels are wheel thrown and assembled with altered and carved components. The forms are canvases for painting and mono-printing slips, stains and glazes.
