Probably one of the more significant moments for everyone at the "Present Tense" conference was the talk by Sonya Clark, an associate professor and chair of the Craft and Material Studies Department at Virginia Commonwealth University. Clark's powerful talk about her personal connection to her materials and lineage was completely universal in its message exhorting the importance of equity and inclusivity.
