American Craft in Arkansas

Liz Smith Teapot

A teapot by Little Rock potter Liz Smith

For the newest Wide World of Craft story on Arkansas, I was able to visit many of the artists featured in the story. In my four day trip around the state, I sat down with more than a dozen different artists to talk about living and working in Arkansas, and what makes the area special, and we had a video camera rolling to capture our conversations. For starters, check out potter Liz Smith in the video and listen to her experience working with Toshiko Takaezu as well as finding time in the studio as a working mother. For more videos, including a visit to the Arkansas Art Center in Little Rock and a talk with potter Stephen Driver and weaver Louise Halsey, head over to our YouTube page and subscribe to be updated as I post more videos from my trip.
