An inter-medium exhibition, fiber artist Judy Rush and abstract expressionist Michael Halliday engage the audience through the mindful process of their own works and intellectual exchange of their collaboration. Rush’s felted pieces are familiar shapes with unfamiliar features; they appear to be common objects and yet exuberantly beautiful. Halliday’s paintings look expressionistic and spontaneous; they are filled with meticulously planned shapes and symbols. Seemingly irrelevant and unrelated, the two artists’ works, through deliberate placements, create some surprising and intriguing synergy between felt and paint.
