I began knitting in 2007 during the Great Recession. I was a single mother in a liminal place between employed and unemployed. Within months of learning to knit I was fully layed off, but I had begun spinning yarn. Spinners know that over time their yarns get finer. For me it’s a compulsion. I must spin the finest threads possible out of any fiber I touch. With my fine handspun threads I create needle-lace nets on handmade papers. They are all circles, but every one is individual.
