Robert Clague is a woodturner using local, reclaimed native Minnesota hardwoods to turn and create art that reveals the hidden beauty, vitality and diversity of both trees and humans. His work focuses on form as a field on which to draw attention to the complex juxtapositions and seeming, but not actual, contradictions within our lives and minds. Carved texture and added color from dyes, paints and waxes help in translating abstract concepts into physical poems using organic materials.
