As a Hmong American visual artist, my work looks at documenting and reclaiming narratives that have been lost throughout our history. I connect materials used within our traditional Hmong craft such as French Indochina coins, fluorescent colors, patterns, and symbols into my work. They reflect our resilience after histories of colonization, assimilation, and displacement. Each piece is carefully crafted through metalsmithing and textile processes to draw upon my culture while forging our future.
