I am a hand engraver, goldsmith, and gem cutter. I create my forms in metal by hand fabricating them or by carving a wax and casting that. Once a form is created I work the surfaces with chisels and punches until I feel like the metal has some life in it. My best work often starts as a vague idea - a stone here, a bit of gold there. It is a tentative relationship right up to the end. Mostly I try to listen to the materials .
