Our work is influenced by our experiences in and around the water. We start with a series of sketches. The basic body shapes are formed out of stoneware clay. The forms are manipulated and hollowed out. Fins, parts, eyes and teeth are sculpted and added while the clay is leather hard. Next the pieces are bisque fired. Glazes are poured, dipped, brushed, and sprayed on the forms. Firing processes include rake, wood, cone 8 oxidation, and cone 9 reduction.
