Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate and honor our 2022 awardees. These individuals have dedicated their careers to craft. Through their work as artists, as educators and mentors, as curators, as scholars, and as advocates, they have inspired and informed us and the field. Read more about our 2022 awardees below.
Since 1975 the American Craft Council Awards recognize those individuals and organizations who are moving the field forward in a myriad of ways. During the course of this event we honored six gold medalists, eight fellows, and three honorary fellows selected by a committee of past fellows. The recipients of the Award of Distinction and the Aileen Osborn Webb Award for Philanthropy were selected by the Board of Trustees of the American Craft Council.

Andrea Specht is the executive director of the American Craft Council.
Tom Loeser is an artist, woodworker, educator, ACC Fellow, and currently serving on the ACC Board of Trustees as the chair of the awards sub-committee.

Gold Medal for Consummate Craftsmanship
Every two years, one or more ACC Fellows (read more below) are recognized as a Gold Medalists, an award for a lifetime of achievements. It is the highest award given by the Council. Gold Medal awardees represent the extraordinary among a field of elite craftspeople.

College of Fellows
Since 1975, the American Craft Council has recognized people who have made an outstanding contribution to the crafts in America by awarding the distinction of Fellow of the Council. The body of awardees is known collectively as the College of Fellows.
