Gamut Gallery presents "Foraged," a collaboration between visual artist Annie Hejny and textile artist Annabella Sardelis featuring paintings and clothing created with pigments sourced from plants, berries, nuts, and other materials indigenous to the state of Minnesota. Annie Hejny explores the waters of her home state Minnesota to create textured abstract paintings with collected water and sediment. Annabella Sardelis, founder of the textile studio Indigo & Snow, creates textiles dedicated to sustainable design such as hand-dyed and painted accessories, apparel, and décor. Foraged combines the works of two artists who have dedicated their lives to celebrating the beauty of Minnesota nature in their art.

Over the past four years Annie Hejny has successfully completed over 30 commissioned projects for galleries, private collections, and public institutions, locally and nationwide. In 2015 and 2016 her work received the ArtReach St. Croix award at the annual Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition, (2016). In August 2017 she was the artist-in-residence with Lanesboro Arts and organized collaborative workshops for the community. In 2018, she was one of four artists selected for the Pine Needles Residency program at Marine on St. Croix, MN, made possible by the Science Museum of Minnesota. In June 2018, she became a member of the Form + Content Gallery in the North Loop of Minneapolis. Her largest solo exhibition, Waterlines, was at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum from August 2018 until January 2019.

Annabella Sardelis teaches natural indigo workshops that focus on zero-waste practices at her studio in the Casket Arts Building, Indigo & Snow. She exhibits her work nationally and has been featured in the New York Times, Elle, and Apartment Therapy, as well as other publications. Her goal is to make the world a more beautiful place.
