Anna Todaro's Wearable Whimsy

Anna Todaro's acrylic paintings and prints have this spectacularly sparkly, icy-blue wonderland thing going on, whether her subject is a bluebird in bloomers or a moose in a suit. And for an extra dash of fantastic: You also can wear a little piece of Todaro's otherworldly work. Todaro makes adorable headbands with images of her original paintings, as well as ones with multicolored fabric accents in the same flattering almond shape.

Craft Meets Art

Asheville's Blue Spiral 1 is one of four distinct galleries (and a two-screen art-film house) owned by John Cram.

Ox-Bow at 100

The bucolic artists’ retreat in Saugatuck, Michigan, celebrates its centenary.

"Workshops for Modernity"

For craft aficionados, it is a great joy to walk into the Museum of Modern Art’s “Bauhaus 1919-1933” show and immediately see a display case of ceramic works. Among the introductory pieces was a pot by Marguerite Friedlaender (later Wildenhain) decorated with a bull in slip trailing. This design relates to other linear decoration in painting and drawings also on view.

Things You Can Touch

The Duane Reed Gallery celebrates 15 years presenting "objects with craft roots."

Grayson Perry, Curator

Grayson Perry, who catapulted into the public consciousness in 2003 when he won the Turner Prize for his delicate coil pots adorned with drawings and text on a broad range of subjects, has taken to wearing a new hat, that of curator.
