Tianna Meilinger's Messenger Bags

Photo gallery (6 images)

I was instantly drawn to Tia Meilinger's Vaya Bags when I happened past her booth at the 2012 ACC Show in Baltimore. They looked so well-designed and functional: rich colors, bicycle tube accents, and made to last. When I found out that the bags are made mostly of recycled materials - scrap canvas from sailboat manufacturers - that made me love them even more. Each bag is made one at a time by Meilinger and two of her friends in their storefront in Queens, New York. And, the bags are surprisingly affordable, especially when you take into account how long one will last. Other accessories are available, too, such as laptop bags, panniers, and purses, for bike messengers and recreational cyclists alike.

Can't get enough craft? Neither can we. Heck Yes Craft is a series of visual blog posts with a simple mission: to show off amazing work. Come back on Fridays for more.
