On these hot summer evenings, I feel like I should be chipping away at novels from my overly-ambitious summer reading list. Instead, I find myself ogling the beautiful, blank hand-bound books created by Erica Ekrem, who does business as Odelae. The intricate stitching on her leather journals casts an Old World charm, an invitation to slow down and savor life. Then there are her unique books bound between two clamshells, their fanned, sculptural pages a new kind of pearl. Her work inspires me to act with care and intention, just as Erica has carefully and intentionally cut every page and tied every knot by hand.

Can't get enough craft? Neither can we. Heck Yes Craft is a series of visual blog posts with a simple mission: to show off amazing work. Come back on Fridays for more.
