Danny Mansmith, A Day Spent Making

It’s clear from fiber artist Danny Mansmith’s product descriptions on his Etsy store, and certainly from his work itself, that there is deep passion and heart behind his fabric-and-thread creations, which he makes by drawing intricate patterns with his sewing machine. He learned to sew from his grandmother, building off of the techniques he learned as a child to develop new ways of using the tool. I love how each unique piece seems to have sprung from his imagination at a particular moment in time. Like a collection of eccentric friends and family, their wonderful mish-mosh of colors, textures, and personalities stems simply from, in Mansmith’s own words, combining things that make him happy.

Can't get enough craft? Neither can we. Heck Yes Craft is a series of visual blog posts with a simple mission: to show off amazing work. Come back on Fridays for more.
