Arline Fisch: Creatures From the Deep

Walking by the Racine Art Museum in Wisconsin becomes like a swim in the jelly-fish infested Atlantic-in a good way-when the world renown artist, Arline Fisch, is given free reign.

Fisch dives in with textile techniques applied to metal, creating a shimmering street-side aquarium of jellyfish sculptures for the Racine Art Museum's Windows on Fifth Gallery.

Inspired by the museum's proximity to the waters of Lake Michigan, Fisch's larger-than-life sea creatures sway in "families" across the 80 feet of windows by incorporating blown air into the installation. Every window has its own unique jellyfish form of the same color and shape, attracting passersby with their vibrancy.
