New York–based artist Shinique Smith worked with students at Charles White Elementary School to uncover sources of inspiration in their own lives. Objects Smith selected from the museum's Costume and Textiles collection are on view alongside new work based on her experience within the school and community, and student art. The exhibition, installed at the school, reflects upon Smith's gritty Baltimore upbringing and early exposure to the sophisticated world of fashion design.
