Stoney Lamar creates his turned wood sculptures primarily through multiaxial lathe work, which gives his pieces a distinct sense of line and movement. He also employs paint and metal in his forms. Lamar often lets the shape, color and modeling of the wood determine a piece’s finished appearance. His work can be found in both private and public collections around the country.
