The Museum of Craft and Design is excited to welcome Rebecca Hutchinson, ceramicist, installation artist, and educator. Based in Massachusetts, Hutchinson will work on site at MCD with a team of assistants and volunteers to create a new version of her ongoing Accommodation series.

This site-specific project uses porcelain paperclay, paper and other natural materials, which she shapes over the course of four days into leaf-like forms, then attaches to branches. With these simple materials, Hutchinson constructs an environment that suggests an unexpected forest through its depiction of the trees.

This exhibition is part of the museum's grand reopening in its new facility, which expands the institution’s exhibition space by nearly 50 percent and features the museum’s first dedicated educational workshop and programming space. A non-collecting institution, the Museum of Craft and Design is one of North America’s few institutions dedicated to contemporary practices in craft and design.
