Hear from the youngest Minnesota artist in the exhibition, Song Yer Thao. Thao's work blends the formal elements of abstract painting with the tradition of Hmong story cloth, which is a reflection of his Hmong American identity. Learn how Thao is creating a unique visual language that draws on his personal experience and reflects the changing face of Minnesota.

Song received his BFA from Gustavas Adophus College, and his MFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He currently teaches art at a middle school and maintains a studio in the Q.arma building in Northeast Minneapolis.
