The spring season of the Salon Series continues with Michael Strand, artist and craft activist, who is bringing his “Misfit Cup Liberation Project” to the American Craft Council. Strand will talk about his work, as well as a new collaborative project with the ACC Library. The highlight of the evening is the “Misfit Cup Liberation Project.” For this interactive event, all audience attendees are invited to bring their old, unwanted cups to trade for a brand new, handmade one. The price for the exchange is a story about the old cup, how the owner came to possess it, and why he or she is willing to let it go.
