Library Salon Series: The Craft of Sign Painting

Our spring Salon Series continues to catch eyes this May as we discuss the endurance of hand-painted signs in America. Faythe Levine and Sam Macon, directors and authors of the recently released documentary and book Sign Painters, will be in the library to discuss their project, highlight contemporary practitioners of sign painting, and cite examples of quality, hand-painted signs right here in the Twin Cities. Forrest Wozniak and Phil Vandervarrt, two Minneapolis-based artists featured in Sign Painters, will also be present to illustrate the time-honored methods of their craft.
