Born in Tehran, Iran, Chris Taylor had travelled the world extensively by the time he was 20. His previous projects include reproducing a 16th century Venetian goblet whose technique was lost for over five hundred years and planting it in a cabinet next to the original in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY. He will be presenting his work from the last six years, culminating with the work Small Craft Advisory where he built a fully functional, autonomous glass blowing studio into a seven foot dinghy, launched it and blew glass while adrift in the Atlantic Ocean. Taylor is a professor of glass at Rhode Island School of Design.
