Nathalie Miebach: Changing Weather

Boston-based artist Nathalie Miebach’s work explores the intersections between art and science. She is particularly fascinated by scientific data, and her recent projects have sought to visualize astronomical, ecological, and meteorological information in three-dimensional space through various forms of weaving. The results are a visual delight: scientific readings are translated into explosions of color and playful lines that allow us to see how the world and universe work in an entirely new way.

A recent recipient of a TED Global Fellowship, Miebach will discuss her views on art and science in her work, as well as talk about her recent commission of composers to create music, in tandem with her woven sculptures, based upon weather data.
