The Resources of the CCBC Fab Lab
Advancements in technology have enabled artists to explore their ideas in ways never before imagined. Although the newest tools can seem prohibitively expensive for private ownership, the Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab) movement has inspired the opening of community spaces that have all the latest digital design and fabrication technology to assist in artistic innovation and creativity. Beginning as a public outreach project through MIT and the National Science Foundation, there is now an international Fab Lab network spanning the globe, including a workspace at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC).
Kelly Zona, manager of the CCBC Fab Lab, will discuss the resources available at this public space and the mission of the Fab Lab community to help people create (almost) anything.
