African Beads and Beadwork is an eye-opening introduction to one of Africa's most fascinating art forms. From rough recycled glass beads to the sacred iron necklaces of Dogon elders, and from beaded love letters passed between young Zulu couples to the fantastical crowns of Yoruba kings, this exhibit leads visitors on a magical journey through the beadwork of the continent. African Beads and Beadwork is both visually dazzling and intellectually engaging. At the South Dakota Art Museum for a limited time, it is an experience not to be missed.
